|The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing patient care related services and
clerical support under the direction of a Registered Nurse a including, but not limited to services relative to hygiene,
nutrition, ambulation, elimination. vital signs, safety, and supply and
|Provides patient care related support including
services relative to hygiene, nutrition, ambulation, elimination, vital
signs, data collection, and safety as directed by a Registered Nurse or
Licensed Practical Nurse per established departmental guidelines and
|Documents appropriately into patient record
charting based on skill level and follows established standards and
guidelines of the patient care services department.
|Maintains appropriate supplies and equipment on
the division and performs inventory and ordering as directed by the
Department Director or designee.
|Performs communication and clerical duties
promptly and accurately. Answers call
lights and the telephone system in a timely manner. Enters charges on the computer and performs
chart audits as directed and per established department procedures.
|Successfully completes job duties within assigned
shift, accepting reassignments to other areas as needed, keeping RN and LPN
informed of pertinent information that may require follow-up.
|Demonstrates unit-defined competencies as

|EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
|High School diploma or equivalent.
|CNA, PCT or Advanced patient care training, OR
|Current enrollment in a professional nursing
education program (applicant must provide a letter from the registrar at
his/her school indicating current enrollment in good standing)
|Certification as a Nurse Assistant
|Recent hospital experience preferred.
|SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
|Excellent communication skills to interact with patients,
visitors and staff.
|Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet
