Baptist Medical Center is a 267-bed acute care facility in Jasper,
Alabama, with more than 600 employees. The hospital offers a
comprehensive range of clinical services, including obstetrics/gynecology,
orthopedics, emergency services, pain center and a Senior Care Unit, in
addition to specialized medical and surgical care.
BMC joined the health ministry of Baptist Health System in 1995. Serving an area covering Walker, Winston,

Medical Center has more than 100 qualified physicians on staff representing

In October of 2015, Baptist Health System and Tenet
Healthcare Corporation (NYSE/THC) signed a definitive agreement to create a
joint venture that will operate a healthcare network serving Birmingham and
central Alabama. The new network will
include all Baptist Health System hospitals, Tenet’s Brookwood Medical Center
and each organization’s related businesses.
Under the joint venture arrangement, Tenet will be the majority partner
and will manage the network’s operations.
The new company will unite Baptist Health System’s four hospitals:
Citizens Baptist Medical Center, Princeton Baptist Medical Center, Shelby
Baptist Medical Center, and Walker Baptist Medical Center, with Brookwood
Medical Center. Together, the new system
will have more than 1,700 licensed beds; 77 outpatient and physician office
facilities, including clinics delivering primary and specialty care;
approximately 7,300 employees and approximately 1,500 affiliated physicians.
The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the Chief
Executive Officer of the facility. The following positions report to the
Chief Financial Officer: Facility Accounting, Case Management, Health
Information Management Operations (including CDI) and Materials
Management. The CFO will work with the Market Shared Services which
includes Business Office, Patient Access, Coding, Market Accounting, Accounts
Payable and Payroll.
The Chief Financial Officer has responsibility for
safeguarding the facility assets and ensuring the financial statements,
including the books and records, are prepared and maintained in accordance with
GAAP. The Chief Financial Officer is
also responsible for ensuring compliance with company financial and accounting
policies and procedures and also ensuring internal controls are effective in
both design and operation, including the routine monitoring of controls.
Additionally, the Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Facility A-Team
and, as such, participates in establishing and implementing strategic business
plans for the facility. He/she is a key
member of the facility management team that interacts and communicates on a
regular basis with an array of internal and external constituents, including
various regulatory bodies.

A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required. An MBA, MHA and/or CPA designation is
